Syngonium species are native to tropical America but are often grown as house plants. This plant is said to help with reducing stress, anxiety and sleep disorders. On top of that the Syngonium is also a great plant to reduce indoor air pollution.
Common issues with Syngoniums:
Yellowing leaves / Brown leaf blotches:
This is a sign that the plant gets either too much water or too little. Make sure you allow the top third of the soil to dry in between waterings and never allow standing water beneath the pot.
Loss of variegation:
Loss of variegation can be caused by the plants growing in shady or semi-shady places since they are not exposed to enough light and will have low levels of chlorophyll. Although it is not possible to reverse this problem on the existing leaves, you can prevent it from happening on newer growth.
Browning leaf tips:
This is usually a case of too low humidity, to prevent new leaves having these symptoms it is best to increase humidity. A fun way to increase humidity is showing your PLNTS some love by misting them every day!
